Homeward Bound

We are currently at Licques and this will be our last French site as we have just booked the ferry back to the UK for tomorrow. We are taking a couple of days to get up to Cowbridge near Cardiff to visit our daughter and then pointing the motorhome in the direction of Poynton, Cheshire. It will be nice to sleep in a real bed and walk up stairs for a change but we will put the motorhome to use over the winter and we plan to get up to Scotland in the New Year before we head back to Europe in 2013.

We are being ‘broken in’ weather wise as it is currently raining here and over the weekend just gone we experienced some of the worst windy weather in ages – the police came to the site and instructed us all to turn the motorhomes around 90 degrees! No one toppled over so it must have worked 😉

    Hi Paul
Just a couple questions about your 2012 trip if you don`t mine. Did you just book a one way ferry trip and then another when you got near to the port ,and did you use headlight deflectors ?
    thanks David Thornton

    • Exactly that David – or very similar – we travel via the tunnel on the way in as Tesco point funded most of that. As we never knew just when we were returning we booked a ferry (cheapest way) back just a few days before the weekend that suited us. I used headlamp converters (good point – I never put it in my ‘mods’ to motorhome bit in blog) but given the amount of times I got flashed by the oncoming wagons on the only night we ever travelled in the dark – they has little effect!! It was very distracting and I have considered adjusting my beams down a bit when we go out again…

Feel free to ask any Q’s – there’s tons to think about 😉 Enjoy your trip!

      Paul
