Like it says! Left Harwich, UK May 13 and I typed this from a lovely refitted Stena Ferry with free Wi-Fi. We took a cabin for an extra £20 or so and its worth every penny (even though we wont sleep in it during a daytime crossing) but we have brewing up facilities, TV and a shower. We are heading across the Netherlands towards Germany (Asten) as soon as we get off in an hour or so. After Germany we head to make new friends at a VW Show at Polari Campsite in Rovinj. I swear its just ‘luck’ and not another excuse for looking at old cars 😉 Details of the show are here: http://www.vwbuba.hr/index.php 🙂
It’s looking sunnier already which is welcome after a wet 250 miles journey down the M6 and A14 towards Harwich (a bloody boring trip too). As something always ‘has to go wrong’ this was limited to the freshly fitted wiper blade nearly parting company with the wiper as we entered the M6 near Sandbach. A quick tighten at the roadside remedied that – hopefully we won’t need them much now 😉
We darted through the Netherlands and spent the week in Germany including lovely Ingolstadt where we spent three days on a great Aire just on the outskirts of town. A quick stopover in Austria with stunning views and then tonight in Slovenia at Ljubljana before we set off the leg to Croatia. I will report separately from there on arrival.
Mean while here is a shot of Ljubjlana earlier today
We had a great day out -in fact something like a perfect tourists day out – with us ticking every box – bit more about that later!
