This is ‘Pauls Diary 2014’ simply entitled in my name as it’s ‘my’ diary. I have done this so if my wife doesn’t agree with the content then I can remind her that it’s mine and not hers. For earlier entries/lies and other nonsense cobbled together written since April 2012 they are now on separate pages.
As with all previous entries – some of the following may be made up, exaggerated or simply lies! As I do that just to keep you on your toes and to make fun of other people at their expense. I can’t promise to update this everyday as to be honest, as not all days are necessarily interesting and at the moment we aren’t travelling regularly.
From August 2014 onwards the ‘current Diary is here: http://paulandalisonstravels.wordpress.com/pauls-diary/
27th July – It’s all busy about here. Working full time, car show to organise and plan looming this weekend, no free weekends from now until October, a holiday away in the motorhome booked for late August/early September. People invite us to functions and parties and we have to politely decline as Tough life, eh?!
22 July – Where has the year gone? Finn was 1 year old yesterday so we spent the weekend celebrating that after a few days away in Formby which I will write up elsewhere. Great weather sees us off to a Classic Car show and taking the motorhome – a splendid combination. More later as I am typing in the dark – a long story…
13 July – That’s the end of an era as they say as last night our beloved VW Compass Calypso drove southward bound with its two new owners behind the wheel. It served us well on our travels, and I even used it for business whilst up in Scotland. Many happy memories over many thousands of miles too. I am sure the new owners will get as much enjoyment out of it as we have. That allows me to concentrate on the Hymer now and there are a few little jobs that I am wanting to do on that to get it up to my exacting standards. We are combining work and pleasure later in the week with a trip up to Formby – I’ll still go to work in Knowsley but the commute will be much shorter.
3 July – Well then, a year after we returned from our intended 18 month travels here we are. We have a wonderful Grandson Finn, who has already spent a night in the Hymer as well as a day out with us in it (he was collected by Dad) and I sincerely hope that he continues to enjoy nights out ‘camping’ in whatever mode that he can. Our kids did so I am sure that he will. A year on and I am back at work – which wasn’t necessarily my intention but it just happened and to be honest it suits us at the moment. By the way the ‘other fellow’ in my diary photo is no less than the legendary jazz guitar player that is George Benson, the ten time Grammy award winning global superstar begged me for a photo to be included in my now famous Diary entry 🙂 That was taken on the evening of our 33rd wedding anniversary – I’ve asked him not to disturb us again. 😉 Life is good 🙂
